After a 10 month stay in a Russian prison, President Biden has secured the release of Brittney Griner. Griner has spent 294 days in Russian captivity, with some of that time spent in a harsh Russian penal colony.
Former President Biden was quick to herald the diplomatic effort by the Biden Administration.
Grateful for the long-overdue release of Brittney Griner today from Russian custody. Kudos to @POTUS and his administration for the difficult diplomatic work involved to make it happen. We’re looking forward to having Brittney back home. https://t.co/G5yKliRoxd
